Ee Chang

Taegeuk Ee Chang

Trigram or Floor Pattern (Yeon-Mu): Tae

I Ching Interpretation: Lake

Taegeuk Interpretation: Joy

Taegeuk Philosophy: This form represents joy, something of a spiritually uplifting nature. It is not aggressive. It is serene and gentle, like bubbles flowing to the surface of a lake.

Practical application: This form consists of fundamental movements such as walking stance (Ap Seogi) and long stance (Ap Kubi). It recognizes that always after a defense there is always an attack. The difference with the previous form (IL Chang) is in the high punch (Olgul Jureugi). This form is for the 7th Gup. There are 18 steps. Ki-hap is at the end on the step #18.

Watch the video from Kukkiwon to practice at home and remember to come regularly to the Dojo to train with the Master and perfect your technique.
