Taegeuk Philosophy: It is the concept of pure Um. It is the opposite of Taegeuk IL Chang (first form). It symbolizes the yielding Earth that provides the substance and limitations into which the forces of creation pass to produce physical form. It represents the Mother, checking on all prior learning. The symbol of Taegeuk Pal Chang is Gon meaning the land, which is the foundation of growth for all life and the place to which all life returns.

Taegeuk Pal Chang is the last Poomsae before becoming a black belt. This form is required for the 1st Gup. There are 27 steps, Ki-hap is at the step #3 and at step #19.
